How You Can Make a Difference

Let me start by saying something everybody already knows – nobody likes politics.

It’s stressful, tedious, and you can never really tell if you’re making any real difference.

But let me mention another fact that most people often forget – nobody likes politics.

In a city of 100,000 people, you’ll might be lucky to find even ten people who are willing to put up with all the stress of running for office.

And each of those ten people will be lucky to find even five people who are willing to spend time and energy helping with their campaign.

If you do even one small thing to help local candidates – whether it’s passing out flyers, knocking on doors, or even just speaking to a friend – you made a bigger impact in the political world than 99% of Americans.

And if you run for office, who knows? Even if you think you’re not qualified, if there’s only one other candidate running, you could easily be the best option available.

You may look to the wider political world and think, “I’m just one person in a sea of thousands. What can I do?”

Instead, understand that you could be one in a thousand – the one who stood up when no one else would.

So don’t sell yourself short. Whatever your background, whatever your skills, you can change our political world for the better.
